Does GrapheneOS work like normal Android?
Yes — it looks and feels like Android because it's based on the Android Open Source Project. You use apps, the app drawer, notifications, everything the same way. The difference is entirely underneath the surface: security and privacy.
Will my banking apps work?
Most banking and everyday apps work fine through Sandboxed Google Play, which runs Play Store apps without giving them system-level privileges. A small number of apps with strict attestation checks may have issues — check GrapheneOS's compatibility notes before ordering if you rely on a specific app.
Can I install any app I want?
Yes. You can install apps via F-Droid, direct APK, or Sandboxed Google Play — you're never locked into a single app store.
Why should I use this over stock Android?
Stock Android on a Pixel still sends telemetry to Google by default and carries a large trusted-computing base. GrapheneOS strips that out and hardens the OS itself, while keeping the same underlying hardware security (Titan M2, verified boot).
